MERCI!

(card from redstamp.com)

I have a confession to make, I still haven't sent out our wedding thank you cards! We have been married now 6 months and nary a thank you card sent. I have the cards, I just haven't made the time to send them. My husband even offered to do all of them, but we have different views on what should be said in a thank you card. I've already received 2 thank you cards from friends who got married a week after I did, and they sent their cards asap! I know i have up to a year 4 weeks (thanks etiquette police) to do this but with two baby showers planned in the upcoming months I don't want to be writing wedding thank you cards and baby thank you cards. I know i just need to get motivated and do it, it's really important to me because we received so many lovely gifts, i still feel overwhelmed by all the kindness and generosity! So tonight I am going to write 20 thank you cards and see how that goes, a little bit at time might be my golden ticket!

Excellent!

And I don't mean to freak you out, but the etiquette rule is actually that guests have up to a year to send wedding gifts. TY notes are supposed to be sent off as soon as possible.

I've heard that you have only 4 wks after the wedding...

BUT

at this point, why worry about spilt milk? :)

It probably just seems like a totally daunting task. I say, if you don't get the 20 done, just do 1 or 2 each night. That way, you'll be done in a month or so (depending on how many gifts you have). Either way, I think it's just the psychology of getting started. Every journey starts w/ one step.

Four Weeks??? Wha?? It took me nine months or more to get them all out. So some people got them right away...and some...not so much. I read you have up to a year so...that was my goal.
I never have a problem sending thank you cards, but the wedding ones were different. I think because after coming back from my honeymoon the last thing I wanted to do was think wedding.

That said, I think the best way is to tackle a few a night. And unless your husband's idea of what should be included is totally heinous let him do the ones for his friends and family if he's willing.
