Sia Later

Image
My awesome cousin Kelly and my other wonderful cousin Erin and her adorable BFF Emily and I went to see Sia in concert. We were all pleasantly surprised that we really really REALLY liked the opening band Body Language. I would definetly go see just them in concert in the future. Sia herself was amazing. Funny and quirky stage presence, and beautiful soulful voice. I loved it! (thanks for the pic Kelly!)

Spring!

I love these 8 Spring Tips from Jonathan Adler . I found them on a dazzling blog, Her Name Was Lola . Clean! There is nothing more depressing than a Grey Gardens grunge scenario. Bicycle! The perfect way to be green and tone your legs just in time for summer! Pillows! Store your winter throw pillows and brighten up the living room with some colorful new pillows in your favorite summer weight fabric. Lamps! More lamps and less watts = diva lighting. Candles! Candlelight erases the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Towels! Invest in brand new extra fluffy towels. People wait too long and they get all frazzled and gnarly - replace them now! Re-paint! Something needs re-painting and you keep putting it off but now is the time – just do it! (this was meant for me!!) Re-arrange! Turn your furniture into new and groovy configurations. How about a semi-circle? Think "conversation pit!" And my own that I am adding: Hug!! Someone out there needs one!

Getting to Know You Tuesday

Image
I borrowed this post idea from my blog pal Michelle . Although she does a Getting to Know You Sunday... And it's Tuesday and my laptop at home is dead. So here I am at work blogging... 1. Mens chests..hairy or hairless? I didn't used to like chest hair, but not I don't mind a little patch of it. 2. How often do you run red lights? Me? Never!!! I am such a paranoid driver. I practically stop on green! 3. If you could raid any celebrity's closet..whose would you raid? I think Marion Cotillard is just so beautiful and stylish. Every time I see her she looks so chic. 4. Would you rather have more followers/friends on Facebook, Twitter, or your Blog? Well I have lots of friends on FB and I hardly go on there. I don't Twitter so that is out. I would have to say my blog. It's fun when I get new readers and comments. 5. What makes you feel sexy? Honestly? When I stop fussing and trying to look so made up. It's when I'm just hanging out or sitting outside with

National Librarian Day!

Image
(Katherine Hepburn in one my favorite Librarian Movies; Desk Set) Today is National Librarian Day! Being a Librarian is my Employment du Jour. Go hug a librarian... better yet, just get a book and sit really quietly and read it. "I also really didn't realize the librarians were, you know, such a dangerous group. ... You think they're just sitting at the desk, all quiet and everything. They're like plotting the revolution, man. I wouldn't mess with them." ~Michael Moore "Librarians, Dusty, possess a vast store of politeness. These are people who get asked regularly the dumbest questions on God's green earth. These people tolerate every kind of crank and eccentric and mouth breather there is." ~Garrison Keillor "Don't mark up the Library's copy, you fool! Librarians are Unprankable. They'll track you down! They have skills!" ~Charles Ogden "Librarian is a service occupation. Gas station attendant of the mind." ~Ric

Backyard Love

Image
It's almost patio season!!! The best part of my house hands down is my back yard and patio. This weekend the patio furniture will come out, big bulb lights will be strung from house to tree. The hammock will be hung, and I might even mow my grass for the first time since the fall. Soon my lilacs will bloom, after that the hostas come back and the ferns too... Then in June i get the most beautiful Peonies! Everyday I bring bunches upon bunches into my house, to work, to my friends. All winter long when the days grow colder and longer by the minute. When nothing but snow and ice cover every inch, I find solace in the fact that someday I will by out in my back yard, swaying in my hammock, reading books and then chasing after my cat. Breathing in peonies and roses, naps in the grass on shabby chic sheets. Lounging in my swim suit catching the rays, sipping cold water and hearing the distant mowing of lawns and chirping of birds. Having friends over, grilling, playing badminton and laug

I heart Vacations!

Image
I'm back! Vacation is so good. 10.5 days away from work is bliss! I had a great time in Duluth with T. We spent a whirlwind day of Visiting the Zoo, Aquarium, Glensheen Mansion and walking around Canal Park and the Pier. This was our first road trip and we not only had a good time, we realized that we can have fun doing just about anything! We are taking a road trip this summer, visiting dear friends in Michigan and then off to the East to visit all the New England states! As a group of wise Sisters once said, I'M SO EXCITED, AND I JUST CAN'T HIDE IT!!! My time in Florida was great. I loved the beaches of Fort Myers and Sanibel Island. I also went to 3 MN Twins Baseball games! I love my Twinkies! And to top it all of I got pretty tan! It's so nice to feel the sunshine on my face, the ocean at my feet and my beloved Twins out on the field! ( Liberty of London on the Beach)
