TWD~World Peace Cookies

I'm not sure why these cookies are called World Peace cookies. They were not so peaceful to make. Actually, all was well until I finished mixing in the flour and my dough was so crumbly.
Dorie said it might be, but I wasn't expecting this. Cutting them proved to be a bit difficult so I just pieced them together as best as I could. Maybe they should've been called World Piece cookies?
The interesting thing about these was the sea salt that was added. I didn't use Fleur de Sel, instead I opted for regular ol' sea salt. I was a little leery about the amount of salt i added and how it would affect the taste of the cookie. But it really did enhance the chocolate and flavor. I might add sea salt to more of my baked goods.
My pictures didn't turn out so well. Because the finished project was nothing to look at. But they did taste very nice. I also didn't use bittersweet chocolate and used mini semi-sweet chocolate chips. I don't like dark chocolate so I'm glad I went with the semi-sweet.
I am thinking about making these again, but not adding the cocoa powder and just using the mini chocolate chips and more salt! YUM!

And for a little inspiration.... My new wall decal that I recently purchased from my favorite online store Etsy.

LOL LOL I'm with you on the "not so peaceful" to make! (if you thought cutting them when 1.5inches in diameter was hard, try over 3 inches next time... HELL!!! LOL LOL LOL)
But they were in the end pretty darn great!
Very well done, Sabrina!

Great job on the cookies. I dont like dark chocolate either but I used it and threw in some white chocolate to balance it out!

LOVE the wall decal...how true.

Sables, I think, can be tricky, but it looks like yours turned out beautifully. I had to beat mine until they formed an (almost) ball, in order to get the dough to even form a log.

You did a wonderful job!:)

Your cookies look wonderful! I love chocolate and salt together and have started subbing Kosher salt for regular salt in chocolate chips cookies - to die for!

Seriously! That much salt in a cookie seems scary, but it ALWAYS works! And your cookies look delicious! Great decal, too!

I always think of PBJ ~ sweet and salty. Can't beat it! I thought they were so delicious even though they were a little different to put together. Love your Valentine's Page. So perfecto!

I can see how these could be World Piece cookies. Let us know how you like them if you leave the cocoa powder out -- sounds like a completely different cookie, but a good one! I like your new wall decal!

All good things come from Etsy. Seriously.

And as for the cookies...maybe they are so good that they are able to bring about world peace. :)

PS: Yes, I did have ruby red slippers. Even wore them again last year when I wasn't pregnant.
I really didn't care for these cookies. Oh well. I also wanted to thank you again for the awesome cookbook. I received it in the mail and can't wait to start trying some of the recipes!
