TWD~Lenox Almond Biscotti

Oh Biscotti you are so very Naughty.
Today for Tuesday's with Dorie, I was to make Lenox Almond Biscotti.
I followed the recipe to a the "t" and so far so good. The biscotti were easy to make, smelled wonderful and I even got to use my jar of cornmeal that had been sitting, sulking on the shelf since 1985. I think these would go great with some coffee. But as a lot of you know, I can't drink coffee or hair sprouts from my chest and I howl at the moon. Maybe if I'm feeling spunky tomorrow morning i will stop in at Starbucks and get a DECAF (oh i am so my mother right now) and then drink that with my naughty biscotti. ciao

Too funny! I do hope you managed to get a cup of decaf with which to enjoy these wonderful looking biscotti! Great job!
Were these biscotti crunchy/hard? Are all biscotti supposed to be that way? I bought one once (in a rash display of cosmopolitan living) that I thought would be like a cookie that I could dunk in my iced caramel macchiato, but it was not.

Am I being retarded in my knowledge of Italian biscuits?

H- They are crunchy hard. They are baked twice. The first time they are soft, the second is to harden them up so they are nice and rock hard crunchy. I kinda like them better soft. But im weird like that.

Naughty Biscotti:).......those words will be circling in my head all day looking for some relevant way to escape.
joolee is so silly.

Um, I don't like the crunchy hard of the biscotti. Maybe I'm weird?

Nextly, guess what?
Katie and I were discussing your Halloween party. We are coming together as the PERFECT combination. Every mother should really be these two things....
Oh, how I leave you in suspense.

Your cornmeal would soooo fail Madam Chow's sniff test. ;)

Your biscotti look delicious. Nothing beats a full-strength coffee, though. :P

Now I feel vindicated (and not abnormal) as a lover of soft biscotti.

I sort of cut mine on an angle. Probably wasn't supposed to - just did for some reason. Yes, mine were long and lean, just like me!

That is too weird about that Carrie U. song - before I knew what she was saying *I* was singing Legacy! It DOES sound like that, doesn't it? :)

Sabrina's biscotti was the perfect blend of crunchy and soft. Heather, I too agree that super crunchy break your teeth out hard biscotti is over rated. (should there be a comma in there somewhere) Can't wait for your next treat Sabs.
I just ate mine plain, no coffee or tea involved! These were crunchy but not rock hard. I'm thinking about trying a once-baked version sometime -- chill the dough, roll it into logs, slice-and-bake. Might be good.
