Five Questions - Five Answers

I borrowed this post idea from my blog pal Michelle over at A'etonu Family Adventures. She is full of fun ideas! Thanks Michelle!

So here are 5 questions with 5 answers.

Question 1: Where were you five years ago?
1. I just celebrated my 1 year anniversary working at a place called Choice Inc, where I worked with adults with developmental disabilities as a Case Manager. Never a dull day!
2. Officially started dating a guy named Josh. We stayed together 2 years after that. meh.
3. I was contemplating quiting my job to go to school full time for jewelry making. Which I later did!
4. I lived in a crappy little apartment in the heart of Uptown Minneapolis on Lake and Lyndale. But I really liked living there so it was worth it. Not even being mugged and having my car broken into numerous times would detour me!
5. I was 28 and I thought that was old!! Geesh.
Question 2: What is (was) on your to-do list today?
1. Tally up my points for my US Weekly draft club.
2. Go to a Baby Shower right after work
3. Dinner with my Cousins and T at Salut!
4. Try to catch An Education at the movies.
5. Eat as many Cadbury Eggs that magically appear in my hands today!

Question 3: What five snacks do you enjoy?
1. Cadbury Creme Eggs!
2. Chips, any kind really. I'm really into Garden Salsa Sunchips right now! mmmm!
3. Does a Chipotle Burrito Bowl count as a snack?
4. Gummy bears
5. Raspberries\strawberries\blueberries\blackberries

Question 4: What five places have you lived?
1. Watertown, MN. a small country town where i grew up.
2. Hillsboro, New Hampshire. I lived there for a year working at a crisis care facility
3. Beijing, China. I spent a summer teaching English there.
4. St. Paul, MN. The better Twin of the Twin Cities.
5. Minneapolis, several parts of the city including Linden Hills. The cutest part of the city!

Question 5: What five things would you do if you were a billionaire?
1. Take my whole family on a really fun trip somewhere warm!
2. Purchase an apartment in Paris
3. Buy a slightly larger home with a deluxe kitchen and a swimming pool
4. Take sailing lessons.
5. Give secret donations to special people out there
Have a beautiful weekend!

Stumble Upon

I think I just stumbled upon the best website ever. It's called Stumble Upon, and actually T told me about it. I don't know if this is or a good or bad thing. As it is, I am addicted to the Internet. I could spend all day looking at websites, blogs, DIY project sites and emailing. I am not proud of this, but I will not be ashamed either.
Random fact about me: My favorite saying is Should=Shame=Puke

Anyway back to Stumble Upon... Basically you go to this website, pick categories that interest you and VIOLA! Hit the "Stumble" button and you are transported to a random website that you might enjoy. Hit the "stumble" button again, and there is another website. The possibilities are endless. This is so bad for me. So so so very bad.

I have found the Dullest Blog in the World.
It's called, The Dullest Blog in the World.
Who knew that really dull things could be so amusing?

My Muse

Emma Pillsbury from Glee!

Her look is very feminine, polished, somewhat old lady-ish, but very chic. I love the cardigans, the pencil skirts, bows, and jewelry.
I realized when watching this show that this is exactly how I like to dress. Although in the winter, I am more inclined to wear slacks (wow, i hate that word). I would much rather wear a skirt though! The only thing that I do not rock that Emma does is the hair. Some how i just can not get a grown up hair-do. I like my long wavy messy locks way too much. I am really excited for Glee to come back in April. By then then the trifecta of television programs will be back on. Gossip Girl, Glee & Lost.

Hello...

First of all, I want to thank all my dear readers for the kind sentiments regarding my Grandma. She was a wonderful lady and is going to be missed. The funeral was yesterday and it was just lovely. Lots of tears but laughter too. Our family doesn't do somber really well so it was fun to see family we haven't seen in years and to share fun stories about my Grandma.
Sadly though I was really sick yesterday, I woke up feeling like a truck ran over me. I was sick to my stomach and threw up a few times. blech! I pulled myself together to last through the funeral but then as soon as it was over I was back home and climbed into bed. Not fun. Although I did get to finally watch LOST and T brought me over some Sprite and Saltine crackers. Thankfully, I'm feeling better today. I stepped on the scale and i lost 4.5 lbs from being sick. Worst diet ever!
It is nice to be home on a Friday though... reading, writing thank you letters, enjoying all the flowers I took home from the funeral. Including a lovely basket my co-workers sent over. They are the best people ever!
I hope you all have a sickness-free weekend, full of all the lovely things that make you happy.

Grandma (Grammy)

On Saturday February 13, my Grandmother Barbara passed away. It is so sad to think that she is no longer here, but i am relieved that she is pain free and with my Grandpa.I can't even begin to express what she means to our family, to me. My memories with her are always of laughter and fun times. I used to spend weeks with her and my Grandpa in the summer time, and they were the best weeks of the summer! I remember hours of playing double solitaire, long rose scented baths, collecting shells on the shores of their lake, watching made for tv movies, and grilled cheese with honey on top! My Grandma always took such good care of me, and of her whole family too. She was kind and nurturing and so fun to be around. I remember one time we drove her car without accelerating, just to see how far we could go without giving it gas. Those were the silly things we used to do when it was just me and her. My special bond with my Grandma always made me worry that I was going to lose her too soon. I don't think there was one trip I didn't take where i worried that something might happen to her and I wouldn't be near. I felt so close to her, and I loved her so much. But in retrospect I think that prepared me for when I did lose her. I had to be willing to let her go at anytime. She was a gift on loan to me, and it has been a blessing to have her in my life for 33 years. I will miss her dearly, but I am happy that she is in Heaven with my Grandpa enjoying all the beautiful flowers and birds! I love you Grammy.

Winter Dinners

Winter is getting long... All i can do at this point is daydream of warmer weather and no snow. Yesterday I almost lost it when yet again the snowplow piled snow in front of my driveway. I'm saving my money for a mega snow blower! Watch out world, Imma be blowing snow all over your yard! So besides shoveling everyday and making glitter houses I have been cooking up some delicious meals. This is what I am feasting on throughout this week. Perfect food for long cold winter nights.
Hurry Spring!

Valentines+Mariah Carey=

GLITTER!

My mom and I made glitter house on Sunday before the Super Bowl. Because what goes better with football than some glitter (or a lot in our case). I found some paper mache unfinished houses, cut some window and doors and then went crazy with the embellishments.
It was fun. I want to live in this house. Then I got inspired and hooked up a mini light bulb to the back. So now at night my glitter house glows.

Happy Valentines Day!

In Like!

Some things that are catching my attention these days...
LOST! Need I say more???!!! So many questions, not enough answers. Does it matter? What will we all do when it comes to an end?

“And there you have it, another body on the floor surrounded by things that don’t mean much to anyone except to the one who can’t take any of them along.”
— Mark Z. Danielewski, House of Leaves

This Living Room

(Nacho Polo Interiors)
How gorgeous is the painted floor, gorgeous moulding, generous light, fireplace, stunning chandelier and book shelves. White is too impractical for me, so I would think a nice daffodil yellow on the walls and touches of fuchsia all around.

This Kitchen

(Whatever... blog)
Nothing fancy, but I dream of counter space and a stove top on the island.
"would you like some more of my delicious food while you mingle at the island?"
I am in the midst of my own kitchen remodel, of course my kitchen is the size of most people's bathrooms, so there is very little I can do. But It will (hopefully) be spectacular. Pictures of the Before and Afters to come...

I want this picture found in Please Be Still's Etsy Shop...

Bright colors, lovely birds... SWOON!

And... My next craft project, Little rose barrettes\pins. How cute are these?

Here is the tutorial from the purl bee. Even though these are barrettes I think they would be also be lovely to lump together and make a pin.

My B.B.Cousin Kelly posted a link to the Blog Aid Cookbook. This cookbook looks so awesome and the proceeds will go to Haitian Relief. Score!

Have a great weekend... it's almost here!

Go Colts! Go Saints! I'm on the fence on who to root for?!

TWD ~ Milk Chocolate Mini Bundt Cakes

I actually made these mini Bundt cakes awhile ago. So this worked out nicely, since I wouldn't be able to do any baking. I made them for my cousin as a joke, for a cookie exchange. Mine actually turned out pretty dry for some reason. But they were fun to make because I actually had mini Bundt pans. I don't own a full size Bundt pan, but I own mini ones?

I drizzled them with light blue icing... I don't even remember why now? Anyway, these are perfect if you want to make little mini cakes for a party.
Maybe put some chocolate lava in the middle and have it oooze out when you cut into them? hmmm....
P.S. LOST! IT'S BACK!
