Operation Baking Gals In the Mail!

A few weeks ago I wrote about a group of women I joined called Operation Baking Gals. I belong to a team of women who have been sending baked treats to some special troops overseas this past week. Today I made some Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies from a recipe by my favorite baker, Dorie Greenspan. So off my cookies go along with some other treats, to some deserving soldiers across the world.

Where for art thou...

I finally was able to look at my blog and i looked at the date of my last entry and was surprised to see I hadn't blogged since Monday. Which is fine, but it's definitely been busy the last few days. I have become busy as busy gets at work. I am everywhere and nowhere, endless running from one wing of the building to another. Supervising movers, making really big decisions (not my strong suit) and finding time to say hello and chat with the cool teachers. I barely have time to catch my breath. This is so not typical of my job... usually i sit at my desk and do my totally boring exciting work. Today a teacher stopped me in the hall and said, WOW you are everywhere! How true. Looking for my Deer in the Works, (that is a reference to a Kurt Vonnegut story BTW, may he RIP). So if my blogging gets few and far between you will all now know why.
Last night i did go to the State Fair! Soo bummed i forgot my camera. I went with Shannon. We ate A LOT of food, walked through the midway, the barns and watched cloggers dance. It was nice and cool and not a lot of people. I am too tired to even write right now, so I apologize for my completely lame post. I wish i could share with you all the stuff going on in my personal life including crushes and long kisses good night. But alas i must go rest.

(I wonder how many people just read the second to the last sentence and said, WHAT! Did Sabrina and TC go out?!?!?!?)

Celebrate Good Times...

COME ON! Last night I had a little celebration of my own. I invited over all my favorite gal pals to celebrate! Celebrate What? Whatever you wanted to celebrate that's what. More importantly, I was surrounded by some of the bestest friends a girl could want or ask for. There were lots of laughs, good food, great outfits and even some "ammo" to liven up the party!
Thanks girls for making my day so happy and bright. I'm happy to be me.

Treats!

See you in 2012

The Olympics are coming to an end. Now we will wait for another 4 years to see Olympics 2012 in London. Every night i turn the Olympics on. I cheer for my favs, I get supah dupah excited!
It has also been sweet seeing the sites of Beijing, where i could proudly say, I've been there! Forbidden City; Check! Summer Palace; Check! Great Wall; Check! Smog; check check check!

Even Marius got way into the Olympics, he cheered with the best of them. But in the critical moments right before Michael Phelps was swimming his last lap, Marius just couldn't handle the pressure. So he would look at me and giddily scream like a girl,
"I can't watch, I just can't watch!"

I know Marius, I know exactly how you feel.

Cha-Cha-Cha-Changes

I am at work. I can't concentrate. Again more changes. You know that feeling you get right before you go into something new? Like a new job, or big move, or a new relationship? That strange stomach thing that happens and that erratic racing of heart beats? I am feeling that way.
Not a bad thing. I just have a much anticipated next few days ahead of me. My job is going to be chaotic starting Monday. Everything at my job is up in the air. Not fun.
I don't like change, but I embrace it while it is happening. It's the before that makes me the most nervous. More nervous than the during or the after.
And this is a weekend of truly letting go and embracing what is ahead.
Most people who read this know that my ex boyfriend is getting married this weekend. I'm fine with that, really I am. I'm not just saying this to make myself feel better. I have had time to heal and grieve. It's a relationship that is very over. I wish him the best. But it has only been a little over a year since we broke up, and he is marrying someone else. It happened fast for him this time. I waited years with him to be ready. I thought i would even marry him. But I'm not, and I'm glad. Not because he is a bad person, but just because he wasn't the right person. Although it is an adjustment. For the years i was with him, I had planned my life with him, for the long haul. When it ended I felt lost. My life did a 180 and I had to quickly sink or swim. I chose swim. But even so, I still had years of memories, hopes and dreams with him I had to let go of. Even marriage. So as he marries another, I let it go, I continue to move on and I have never been happier. I hope no one pity's me or feels sorry for me. Be happy for me that I have a lifetime of good things to look forward to. Celebrate with me.

When I was going through the worst of it, i would read these verses over and over. Most of the time i would say, Will I ever be happy? Will I ever not cry?
It was hard to imagine a time when i wouldn't be sad. With time does come healing. God is in the sorrows and in the joys.

Psalm 126
When the LORD brought back the captives to Zion, we were like men who dreamed.
Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them." The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. Restore our fortunes, O LORD, like streams in the Negev.
Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him.

Time for another move...

I just got word today that I can move back into the newly remodeled Media Center at the school. I have been working out of our District Media Building, and working out of boxes. I am ready to get settled in and back to normal. Although it's been kinda lame, can't play my music nice at the temporary building, now the reality is setting in that school is about to start. And the marathon begins. My goal is to work until at least May 09' because then i can say i have been at my job for 2 years and i can also say that I broke my world record for staying at a job. So far I have 1.5 years under my belt at one job. I am Michael Phelps breaking records. And hearts.

My Olympic Sport Would Be...

Synchronized Swimming

If the Olympic gods called me up and said,

"You will be given a chance to come to Beijing and compete in one sporting event and you will instantly be miraculously really really good, like Michael Phelps good, what event would you like to be in?"

Synchronized Swimming.

I love the water. I love being in the water. If I believed in reincarnation I would've been a mermaid in a previous life. The body in motion in water is so ethereal. Also, I can hold my breath for a really long time underwater. Whenever i am in a pool, i always try testing myself to see if i can swim the length of ANY pool underwater. So far, So good. See I'm a mermaid. Or if i was Zoolander I would say, MerMan, MERMAN!
Synchronized Swimming is such an artistically graceful sport, plus you get to wear sparkly swimsuits and lots of red lipstick. It's the pretty sport.
You also have to be really good at doing flips and kicks and so it also takes great athletic ability to be a synchronized swimmer. It's the perfect combination of beauty and athleticism.
What would your sport be?

Downtime

This past weekend was so nice and relaxing. I think i ended up cancelling 5 plans with people to just chill at home. Sometimes you just need one of those weekends to do nothing. I wasn't feeling 100% either, so i just wanted to be home. I did have Kelly and Kyle over for dinner last night, I made Coconut Basil Chicken Curry and Cucumber-Feta Salad. Then we ate Chicken Dinner that Kelly made. YUM!
Kyle suggested that we start having a once a month Stand-Up Comedy\Variety\Fun night. Where participants perform something silly to the amusements of the audience. This is going to be (h)Uge! Something along the lines of a His Mansion Family Night Variety Show! Ok, only a few people reading this will understand what that means, but were they not some of the best nights on the Hill?????
Feel free to contact me about getting your act in the show.

Lazy Saturday

I spent the morning with Nori and we had coffee and huge belly-ache laughs, the kind where you laugh so hard you have to grab onto the other person and they grab onto you and you both can barely hold each other up because you are so doubled over it almost hurts.
Then Nori and I went to the Goodwill and we ran around the store, trying on funny hats and shoes. Oh and when we found that huge chunk of marble and we laughed because it almost looked like cheese. And then that weird curly haired lady who kept following us around said, "Well I guess you could use it as a door stop or book end." Whatevs.
That same curly-haired lady whose name sounds like Micheal Phelps, she also kept asking me really private questions. But she totally used her husband as her alibi and would say, "Well Jake was wondering what you did for the past 10 years?"
When really we know that she just wanted the dirt, so she could make me out to be some drop out loser on her blog.
Good thing everything I told her, I made up.

A Little Emily Dickinson

A Something in a Summer's Day
By Emily Dickinson
A something in a summer’s Day
As slow her flambeaux burn away
Which solemnizes me.
A something in a summer’s noon —
A depth — an Azure — a perfume —
Transcending ecstasy.
And still within a summer’s night
A something so transporting bright
I clap my hands to see —
Then veil my too inspecting face
Lets such a subtle — shimmering grace
Flutter too far for me —

So looking on — the night — the morn
Conclude the wonder gay —
And I meet, coming thro’ the dews
Another summer’s Day!

I ♥ Dahlias!

My first dahlia from my garden bloomed today!

Things I like to make fun of: MN Accents

How can you NOT make fun of MN accents!
Today on the CUB Foods Commercial, CUB Foods girl asked random folks this question:

What do you like to put your blueberries on?

One lady said:
I like to put them on Graah-Noh-la and Yoh-Gehrt.

I wonder if she was from Ah-Noh-Kaa?

Too funny! Good thing Blueberries aren't Spehn-dy right now.

Facebook: Changing Lives, One Friend Request at a Time.

Last night I went out with Lisa, an old friend from elementary\jr.high\high school. Shannon and I were both friends with her throughout school, until she went to another school in 9th grade.

Lisa recently contacted me through Facebook and well the rest was history.
Shannon, Lisa and I shared memories and laughs of all those years at W-M. It's fun to be
re-united via Facebook. Without Facebook I wouldn't have all the 101 friends that I now do. Question: Do you think people request to be friends with strangers just so they can seem like they have a lot of friends? Sad.

A tutorial on striking out

Many people are wondering how that whole Strike Through magic works. I myself have recently learned how, and that was pretty much so i could sound even more witty in my posts.

Go here for a very quick and easy tutorial. This is the way I do it. And I prefer my way.

or you could be cool like Megan and do all your writing\striking through in Word then paste it.
Tomato\Tomahto.

Have fun and don't be surprised if you instantly gain 10 new friends who think you are soooo amazingly cool. Strike Throughs are the new Michael Phelps.

The One Where Sabrina Almost LOST Her Blog

So at work when i am bored, I like to play around on my blog. Today was no exception. I like to experiment with new templates so I can have the coolest blog ever, and every one will like me more because i get my validation from my blog so i can have a stylish blog.
I was a bit more daring then usual when i found a blog template i really really liked. I downloaded it and viola, it looked something like this:I was so excited to see my new blog in action! Except there was one thing wrong with it: All my info\posts\pictures\links\EVERYTHING was gone! Poof! I almost had a mini panic attack...
Nothing was working and I literally almost started to cry. At that moment i realized that i needed to get a life and stop being so enmeshed/addicted/stage 5 clinger with my blog. Actually at that moment i did everything I could to bring it back because I am enmeshed/addicted/stage 5 clinger with my blog. I almost ran and found one of the tech guys to save me (even though blogging is not really allowed at work, but why?) THANKFULLY, I was able to save my blog all on my own, and now I feel whole again.

Operation Baking Gals

Well for those of you who know me, you might know me as this free spirited Libertarian pacifist gal. I rarely will talk about my political views or politics in general, but i guess you could say i am a Libertarian. I am not a fan of war (really, who is?) and therefore i am a pacifist. There are a lot of things very wrong with this country. Yet i am still an American, and I love living here and i embrace my freedoms (hello Libertarianism). So as we are in the middle of a war, that i definitely wish would end soon, in the mean time I will support our troops. I think they are an amazing\fearless\brave\wonderful lot of men and women. Even if i don't understand or always agree with what they are doing on a daily basis, I still care about them. So to show my support I have joined a group of women calling ourselves, Operation Baking Gals. Operation Baking Gals is a group of women who are on "teams" and each team picks a group of soldiers and sends them baked goods. I am on team Meet Me in the Kitchen. Starting the week of August 23, all the members of our team will be sending goodies to Russ and his pals. Anyone can join, so if you are interested check out Operation Baking Gals and sign up. Now, the big question is: What am I going to bake????

After the Dentist Comes the Police

My dentist visit went well... I was offered Nitrous Oxide and GLADLY accepted. I had my earphones\MP3 player cranked up and I was out of it. You really do think about the weirdest things when you are a bit high. I think i solved all life's major crisis... now if i could just remember the solutions??? I have to go back in a month to get a crown on bad tooth, but this was such a positive experience, i don't mind going back.
Oh and guess who showed up at my door after the dentist? The police! Marius decided to wander far far away again. Although this time he was such a criminal the police picked him up and handcuffed him in the back seat. Ok no handcuffs, but he was in the back seat. Silly Cat.
Lady cop was nice and didn't give me any lectures about not having my cat licenced. What is this shame free week? No shaming dentists, no shaming police. This is great!
Well Marius is back home safe and sound, good thing for ID tags... Now i must go rest, I still feel funny funny funny.

Pie Time!

I enjoy making pie... and i love having reasons to make pies, like the birth of a new baby. So i went to my dessert bible: Baking by Dorie Greenspan. She had this recipe for Creamiest Lime Cream Meringue Pie. Sounded summer delicious! I took the "bones" of her recipe and then tweaked it a bit... I had a sampling of the cream filling with a hunk of mango, and let me tell you, not too shabby.

Mango Gingered-Lime Cream Pie-
makes 8 servings - adapted from Dorie Greenspan's recipe
Ingredients:
For the Filling1 9-inch graham cracker crust, fully baked and cooled, or a single crust pie dough.
1 cup sugar
Grated zest of 3 limes
4 large eggs, preferably at room temperature
3/4 cup fresh lime juice (from about 6 limes)
A 1-inch chunk of fresh ginger, peeled and finely grated
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 stick unsalted butter, cut into tablespoon-size pieces, at room temperature. (you could even use less butter... her recipe called for 2.5 sticks of butter!)
1 Mango, chopped into big chunks, drizzled with lime juice.

Procedure 1. Have an instant-read thermometer, and a blender or a food processor at hand. Bring a few inches of water to a simmer in a saucepan.
2. Put the sugar and zest into a heatproof bowl that can be set over the pan of simmering water. Whisk in the eggs, then whisk in the juice, ginger and cornstarch.
3. Set the bowl over the pan and start stirring with the whisk as soon as the mixture feels tepid to the touch. Cook the lime cream until it reaches 180 degrees F. As whisk—you must whisk constantly to keep the eggs from scrambling—you'll see that the cream will start out light and foamy, then the bubbles will get bigger, and then, as it gets closer to 180 degrees F, it will start to thicken and the whisk will leave tracks. Heads up at this point—the tracks mean the cream is almost ready. Don't stop whisking or checking the temperature, and have patience—depending on how much heat you're giving the cream, getting it to the temperature can take as long as 10 minutes.
4. As soon as it reaches 180 degrees F, remove the cream from the heat and pour the cream into the container of the blender (or food processor); Let it cool until it reaches 140 degrees F, about 10 minutes.
5. Turn the blender to high speed (or turn on the processor) and add the butter a few pieces at a time. Scrape down the sides of the container as needed as you incorporate the butter. After all the butter is in, continue to blend the cream for another 3 minutes. If you find the machine is getting really hot, work in 1-minute intervals, giving the machine a little rest between beats.
6. Pour the cream into a container, press a piece of plastic wrap against the surface and refrigerate until the cream is cool. Or I put mine in the freezer and let cool that way. Much faster! (The cream can be packed airtight and and frozen for up to 2 months; thaw overnight in the refrigerator.)
7. When the cream is cooled and firm, stir and then pour 1\3 of cream into the bottom of your cooled crust. Add half of mango chunks, then pour rest of cream on top. Finish with the rest of your mangos. Let chill until ready to serve.

Just in case you were dying to know...

My weekend went something like this:
Friday night I went out to the Carver County Fair. I hadn't been there in years. I used to be in 4-H and I would show my horse there. Back then it was cool to walk around the Midway and meet cute boys. Those days are long gone, well the 4-H part at least, I still like walking the Midway, making friends with the Carnies.
So I went to the Fair and Shannon, Jaime and Cindy were there. Cindy is on the fair board and gets to drive around in a cool golf cart. And she is officially attached to the hip with her new\old boyfriend John. Jaime also brought her new boyfriend Kevin.
He was nice, and he thought we were silly\strange\deranged\funny. True.
I also hung out\played games to win goldfish with an old old friend from High School named Mike. Mike and i dated in 6th grade. It was like old times. But no kissing behind trees at recess.

It rained, and that wasn't so great. It was strange being back. Even weirder bumping into people I haven't seen since the day I graduated. Strange indeed.

Saturday was calmer. I spent most of the day relaxing. Until i made some chicken and pie and brought it over to Jodi. Yes, the one and only! We finally were able to meet after all this commenting over blogs. I also got to meet\hold\feed\burp\love baby Jada!
What a doll! Plus I also got to meet Jakob, who is such a cutie too!
and hubby Craig... and have great conversations with one Simple Perfect Family. Jodi and Craig are the New Megan and Jake.

Sunday i spent the day at my parent's house. My parents surprised me with a new grill! They are good people. We took a drive into Hutchinson and played guessing games.
Mother: I'm thinking of a restaurant that begins with the letter W.
Daughter: Olive Garden?
Mother: I said W!
Father: Wally's?
Daughter: How often do you actually ever eat at a restaurant named Wally's?
Mother: Hello, any more guesses?
Daughter: Chilli's!!!!
Mother: I SAID W!!!!
Back at home we made a campfire and grilled and sang songs around the fire. Including the one where my mom played Puff the Magic Dragon on the guitar and my dad and I changed the words to the song. Puff the Magic Doobie. We are nerds. We prefer it that way.
Monday is dooms day. Mr. Dentist will spend 2 hours repairing my one sad tooth. I will calmly sit listening to my music and wishing i were somewhere far far away.

"I wish I was a bird and I would fly far far away."(go ahead Kelly, name that movie.)

Are you going on vacation anytime soon?

You know how it is the cool thing to shorten words right now:
That's Gorgeous.... That's Gorg
Whatever... Whatevs
Vacation... Vaca

Vaca means beef in Spanish... So now when people go on vacation I'm just going to say,
"Have a nice Beef!"

If you want a sneak preview to the Opening Ceremonies of the 2008 Olympic Games, my friend Bonnie who lives in the future told me all about it.
The Swiss will be sporting Leiderhosen is the word on the street at the Bird's Nest.
Yep, still buzzin' on caffeine.

Warning!

Just to warn you I just drank an Iced Latte, NOT DECAF. "IS THIS DECAF?" (kelly, name that person!) Anyway, I do not handle caffeine very well, so i stay away from anything caffeinated including: coffee, soda, dark chocolate, and men from Columbia.
Caffeine makes my left eye twitch. It's so annoying and i suppose if you didn't know me or didn't feel comfortable telling me, you might be drawn to my eye doing some weird spasm dance and totally not being able to focus on all the interesting stories i would be telling you.
So why am I drinking a NON DECAF Iced Latte this morning you ask? Well, It's Friday, I just got paid and I wanted to treat myself. And on top of it, I discovered this quaint little bistro style coffee shop right in my neighborhood. That is the great thing about moving to a new community, you get to find little gems right in your backyard. So if you are ever in the Robbinsdale area I would highly recommend you check out this place, it's called McCafe.

I totally stole a dinner idea from Shannon last night. "You stole it!" (that is a line we say in our family a lot!) Why? It's from a movie, Can you name it? 1980's comedy, featuring too funny guys.
Shannon was going to make Mini Meat Loafs. I like meat loaf and I like to eat mini things. To top it off, I had mini loaf pans that kelly gave me as a dink once.
(Dink: a small random gift.)
They were very tasty, although i don't have a picture to post at the moment. But when i do, you will be dazzled by cuteness. Can meatloaf be cute? I say to you: YES!

Tonight is the opening night of the Olympics! I love the summer Olympics! I think Mary Lou might take the gold! Greg Louganis is going to Rock! Go Bruce Jenner!
I'm sorry, that was the Olympics circa 1976,1984 and 1988. See what caffeine does to me!
I tend to be a bit surprised when the Olympics draws near, and you stop and think, The last one was four years ago? But for me, it goes back a little further than that. I was teaching in Beijing 6 years ago, right after Beijing got the bid to host the 2008 Olympics. You have no idea how excited\proud the Beijinians (they do not call themselves that) were. Everywhere you went there would be signs saying: Hosts of the 2008 Olympics. Even on our mattresses they printed, Olympics 2008. I remember telling all my students that I totally would be back for the 2008 Olympics. Heck, I had 6 years to prepare. I guess I just assumed that it was so far off, that of course i would be returning in 2008. Well 2008 is here, and I'm not there in Beijing. Isn't that so funny how time works... You just think you have all the time in the world. And then it just zips right by.
My dad who went to work everyday for 31 unfulfilling years at the local gas company, had a saying at his job:
Time waits for no man, and neither does the
Meter Reader.
Words of wisdom spoken by a true gas man.
"How did they know i have gas?" Name that movie. 1990's movie with 2 different funny guys.

(addition: I am getting the distinct impression that people are liking me better when i am high on caffeine. So are you saying regular Sabrina isn't good enough? Or is it like that one episode of Friends where they only like Fun Bobby when he is drinking? thanks.)

I ♥ My Dentist

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
My Dentist visit was a success! I can hardly believe it! The staff was soooo friendly, so nice, no shame, no lectures. They completely put me at ease, and were very gentle!
Mr. Dentist, was very nice and CUTE in a sweet boyish way. And Ms. Hygienist was very nice too, and kept complimenting me on my clothes. THEN Ms. Office Manger said, "Well i see you are in here for a complimentary x-ray\exam, but it looks as if your insurance covers that anyway. So instead would you like a complementary teeth bleaching?" Are you kidding me, YES!
Ok, so there is a downside to all of this. I need some serious work done. My back molar that is broken, has a cavity and decay... so next Monday I will be getting:
a) Root Canal
b) Crown
c) Filling
Not fun, but better now that i have a dentist that i like and trust. Plus i get my teeth bleached, and that makes me feel better already.
Now i have an evil story to tell about the dentist from last year. This story is also a reminder to get a second opinion if something doesn't feel right:
So last year i went to the dentist, it had been about 7 years since my last visit. They looked at my teeth and then the dentist came in and said your gums are really bad. And then he did this thing where they check how much the gums have receded from the tooth, 0-1 is good, 2-3 is good, 4,5,6,7 etc are very bad. They went through my teeth and said all of them were at a 5, 6 and 7! Then they told me I would have to come back on 2 separate days and have my gums peeled away from my teeth and then cleaned. I questioned them if i really really needed this, because lets face it, the dentist freaks me out. And any procedure that involves peeling the gum away from the tooth, makes me sick! So i said, Well ok, all along thinking, hmmm i don't know about this.
So I asked them if in the mean time can i just get my teeth cleaned, because as you know it has been 7 years. They said NO! we refuse to clean your teeth until you get this procedure done! WHAT!
Yep, they would not clean my teeth. I made my appointment and then i just had this sinking feeling about it all. I talked to a girl who said her mom had the same thing done. But she was also surprised that at such a young age I had to have it done. Her mom was in her 60's and had NEVER gone to the dentist. So I said, Sabrina own your mouth and your voice and don't go. So i cancelled my appointment. Never to return to that office.
So fast forward to the dentist yesterday. They did the same gum check, I had only 1,2 &3! No 5,6, or 7!!!! The dentist said my gums looked great!
Now you are telling me that in a year my gums got miraculously better, because it's not like i brushed and flossed more. I have a feeling that the dental office last year got a little greedy and were trying to do procedures that didn't really need to be done. That is wrong and deceptive. Get the second opinion.

The One Where Sabrina Goes to the Dentist.

In a few moments I will be leaving for my appointment with the devil dentist.

On a random side note, Lately I have been watching Friends re-runs. And i just realized that the title of each show starts, "The One Where... ...Monica is Anal, Phoebe sings a dumb song, Ross talks like he is mildly retarded, Joey eats sandwiches and says How you Doing, Chandler spazes out and wears cardigans and Rachel looks as if she has a wad of chew in her lip."
I also realized how outdated that show is and not as funny as it used to be.

Strangers Among Us

For years I have been hearing about these mythical creatures. They are supposedly real people, who live and work among us. Almost alien like. Or like on that old 80's show "V" where the aliens walked and talked and looked like humans but underneath they were (gasp) reptiles!

But the people I am referring to really do exist. Who are these people you might wonder?

PEOPLE WHO GO HOME FOR LUNCH!

Yes, it's true, they really do exist!!! This rare breed of people who live within a short distance of work, so everyday they can make a quick jaunt home, let the dog\cat out, check the mail, and eat lunch in the comfort of their own home. They are not like the rest of the world who commutes from excruciating long distances everyday, forced to eat lunch in a stale\stinky staff lounge. Nope, these people work in the same area they live in. (Double Gasp)!

And how are you wondering do i know they exit? Because hold on to your hats folks, I'm shedding my skin, taking off the mask,

I AM ONE OF THEM!!!
(gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp!!!!)

Yes, I am among the elite who can go home for lunch! Oh what joy, what splendor.
My dad would say at this moment: "Are you bragging or complaining?"
Oh I am bragging Dad, bragging my little hear out!!!!

I love it! ESCAPE!!!!!! FREEDOM!!!! I AM OUTTA HERE!!!!! Commuting is a four letter word in my book now!!!

WHAAAAAA!!!

That is the sound of me crying like a baby! This is why and I will tell it to backwards to lead up to the reason I am so upset.

My cousin Dan (second cousin) got married last weekend. He is a professional hockey player. So he gets to marry pretty girls who have sisters like Jenny McCarthy. Jenny McCarthy dates people like Jim Carrey. Now i had every intention of going to this wedding, but my mom and I just kept putting it off and then it was too late to go. I was fine with it really. Yes, I missed a trip to Colorado, the chance to dance with cute hockey players from both the St. Louis Blues and the Avalanche, and to play paparazzi for the night. Even Ryan and Trista from the Bachelorette made an appearance. I realized what I might miss, I even realized that the one and only Jim Carrey might be present. Giving me the chance to meet him and do impersonations for him and make him laugh and have him say, Really Sabrina, have you thought about acting? But instead i chose to relish in the last few days of my summer break.

I suppose you are wondering why? Well Dan and Amy decided to have a 50's theme for their reception. I was actually planning on going as Jackie Kennedy! Oh why didn't i go?!?

Congratulations Dan and Amy!!
Much Love! I really do care more about your marriage then Jim Carrey. Really.

Tonight i am having an oyster feeding frenzy at Stella's with K & K. Oh crap, now all my stalkers will know where i am tonight. I guess I will take that risk.
And of course the best news of all today, is that my stranger friend Jodi (OK i stole that whole stranger\friend thing from matt, liz& madeline) Anyway, Jodi and her family were chosen by some birth parents to adopt their baby. A little girl! Jodi and Hubby have been waiting over 8 months for this, and then boom, it just happens.! Please think of them in your prayers. But oh how very exciting!!!
