Strangers Among Us

For years I have been hearing about these mythical creatures. They are supposedly real people, who live and work among us. Almost alien like. Or like on that old 80's show "V" where the aliens walked and talked and looked like humans but underneath they were (gasp) reptiles!

But the people I am referring to really do exist. Who are these people you might wonder?

PEOPLE WHO GO HOME FOR LUNCH!

Yes, it's true, they really do exist!!! This rare breed of people who live within a short distance of work, so everyday they can make a quick jaunt home, let the dog\cat out, check the mail, and eat lunch in the comfort of their own home. They are not like the rest of the world who commutes from excruciating long distances everyday, forced to eat lunch in a stale\stinky staff lounge. Nope, these people work in the same area they live in. (Double Gasp)!

And how are you wondering do i know they exit? Because hold on to your hats folks, I'm shedding my skin, taking off the mask,

I AM ONE OF THEM!!!
(gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp gasp!!!!)

Yes, I am among the elite who can go home for lunch! Oh what joy, what splendor.
My dad would say at this moment: "Are you bragging or complaining?"
Oh I am bragging Dad, bragging my little hear out!!!!

I love it! ESCAPE!!!!!! FREEDOM!!!! I AM OUTTA HERE!!!!! Commuting is a four letter word in my book now!!!

I LOVED the show "V"! I'd flip up the sign all the time when I was little.

Lunch at home...of course this hermit is jealous!!! But-dowtown Minni at my fingertips is a close second.

Buddy and I used to go ga-ga over V! We still talk about it! That show should be a blog post of its own! hmmmm....

I've had a few gigs where I could come home for lunch! Loved it!! I thought I was the only one who liked the V show!! Our neighbor makes her husband and her son lunch everyday too. Sometimes I feel like just popping over to see what they are having. She runs a daycare and they still come home for lunch. Well, I really need a nap. . . Jada likes to party all night and both her and Jakob are actually sleeping right now! Nighty night!

yeah...2 twenty minute naps a day while i'm magically transported to and from my job is like winning the lottery after commuting to anoka for so long!

So now with Christmas almost upon us, I wanted to take the last few days to make some Christmas Crafts. This weekend I spied this AWESOME clothespin wreath on Pinterest which lead me to  Hambly Screen Prints Blog . The clothespin wreath was so fun and easy to make!  Supplies you need: Wooden clothespins scrapbook papers Washi tape (or decorative tape) You can buy washi tape at Hambly, Amazon.com, etsy, Michaels or most craft stores) Glue Thick cardboard for circle (or Michaels sells pre-made circle forms) Felt to cover cardboard (although I skipped that step) Decorate your clothespin however you like. A Book and A Giveaway

As I said I would be doing in my 7 Resolutions, I am reading a book a week. This past week I read the book Precious, based on the Novel Push by Sapphire. I'm sure most of you have heard about the movie based on the novel. The book club that I belong to is reading this book and now that I read it, I am going to give it away. The book was very eye opening, raw. You really don't want to believe that children have to live like this, that this is reality for many children\teens. Incest, rape, abuse, lack of education, lack of everything! I know this stuff happens, but you don't want to believe it. I work at a Middle School, and I look around and wonder what happens to some of these kids when they go home. My heart breaks. It's not an easy read by any means, but it will make you think and feel.
