My Last Supper

There is a book out right now by photographer Melanie Dunea, called My Last Supper. She interviews top chefs and asks them, What would be your last meal? Most of the chef's surprisingly went with comfort food, regardless of the fact that they make gourmet meals at their upscale restaurants. Pasta, hamburgers, pizza, doughnuts, and friend chicken were among the top pics. Those also seem to be the top picks of convicts on death row. The theory is that you go to the foods that are associated with good memories and/or childhood. I however, have a different spin on what my comfort foods would be. And it's not because my palate is more experienced or defined. I just find comfort in something more than mac & cheese, albeit I do really like mac & cheese. I would have to say that my last meal would be, Chicken Pad Thai, extra spicy with lots of crushed peanuts and limes, a bowl full of jiaozi (or as they are called here, dumplings\potstickers). Some form of duck breast... love the duck with crispy skin and fatty meat! A couple glasses of a good Riesling or Gewuztraminer wine, and for dessert a handful of gummy bears, a slice of wedding cake and a Cadbury Egg. Pretty simple, very spicy and totally delicious!
What would be your last meal? I'm dying to know. (no pun inteded!)

Okay, I LOVE Pad Thai too but I would probably go with sushi and cookie dough. Or, if I was not only dying but also broke, taquitos, tomato soup and cookie dough.
Oh my... so hard!!! I love eating so much I would want a few last meals. Right now, my diet is quite limited due to nursing my son and he being quite reactionary to what I eat. So I think about food all the time and dream of what I would eat if I could.... lately my focus has been on anything spicy asian or mexican. If I were dying, I'd have to go with anything Mexican with lots of guac and sour cream and cheese- all very authentic please - no Taco Bell. Mmmmm.... Top it off with Macaroni Grill's lemon/caramel cake. And marshmallow peeps (stop eewing, I love em).

3 handfuls movie theatre popcorn from the grandview theatre,
ceasar salad from luci's,
a bottle (why not? i wouldn't have to get up the next day!) of the dryest, earthiest red wine ever,
rosemary bread from Punch Pizza,
scallops and mussels with saffron,
the old (off the menu!) oreo madness from Friday's
They don't have oreo madness anymore??? HORROR... I almost put that one on my list! I LOVE that stuff!
S- thanks for the peeps props.
I really also need to add that I couldn't have this last meal of Mexican euphoria without TWO top shelf maragaritas, lime, rocks, extra salt and extra lime.

I have to choose a huge pot of Swiss fondue with freshly baked bread, small potatoes, cauliflour and a lot of delicious, red wine. Dessert would be a chocolate lava cake with fresh raspberry sauce and a small scoop of homemade vanilla bean ice cream. I guess my last meal would not normally be chosen either! :)
