Home Sweet Home

As of today my sweet little house is going on the market. It's so bittersweet for me in so many ways. And although I know the move to my hubby's house was the best for our growing family, I truly am going to miss my house. I adored this house from the moment i walked through the doors. The beautiful tiled and hardwood floors, the arched entrances to each room, the windows and the glass blocks. The front breeze way and the back porch. And of course my most loved and treasured backyard oasis! I still get a little sad thinking about not being able to be out there this summer. I was blessed with a plethora of perennial plants and shrubs. Including about many different varieties of hostas and glorious Peonies. I think of all the friends & family I hosted & entertained out on the patio, including our rehearsal dinner. I got engaged in that house, found I was pregnant in that house and had so many happy memories there. Don't get me wrong, I am looking forward to the next phase of my life as a mom and the house we will bring our baby home to will be wonderful! But it's a letting go process and I'm ready to move on.

If I wasn't pregnant I would think Megan was a big baby. But I can relate!!!! And yet, it's so worth it too...

Fabrics!

After searching the internet far and wide for some curtains for the nursery and I have come up empty handed!
Until I stumbled upon Fabric.Com and it is amazing!!! I found fabric after fabric that I love and is affordable. I am comfortable making my own curtain panels so I think I might just go this route.

So far these are the fabrics that I'm loving the most...

The crib bedding is yellow and gray and we painted the walls Behr'sFrench Silver. When the whole nursery is done I'll post some pics.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hope you all have a swell Valentine's Day. Our night will be pretty low key. I think we'll go grocery shopping and I'll pick out a really pretty bouquet of flowers for my husband to get me. Or maybe he'll make me go wait in the car and he'll pick one? I don't mind either way, I just like fresh flowers.
There might even be a heart shaped pizza thrown in the mix for dinner!

I have a confession to make, I still haven't sent out our wedding thank you cards! We have been married now 6 months and nary a thank you card sent. I have the cards, I just haven't made the time to send them. My husband even offered to do all of them, but we have different views on what should be said in a thank you card. I've already received 2 thank you cards from friends who got married a week after I did, and they sent their cards asap! I know i have up to a year 4 weeks (thanks etiquette police) to do this but with two baby showers planned in the upcoming months I don't want to be writing wedding thank you cards and baby thank you cards. I know i just need to get motivated and do it, it's really important to me because we received so many lovely gifts, i still feel overwhelmed by all the kindness and generosity! So tonight I am going to write 20 thank you cards and see how that goes, a little bit at time might be my golden ticket!

By now we have heard about the devastating floods in Australia. Thousands of people losing everything in the floods. Including many who have lost their lives. It's such a sad thing to see happening and you feel rather helpless.
