The Cat Days of Summer
Not much has changed, just living the dream with my boyz. Everett is getting bigger and smarter and sillier by the day. One of the things that I wish for my son, is not only will he grow to be happy and healthy but a big dork like his parents. I think he is well on his way. He has this toy monkey that hangs above on his playmat and he laughs and "talks" to that thing like it's his BFF. Unbelievably hilarious.
We've been having heat wave after heat wave here and I don't mind a bit. Pretty soon it will be cold, snowy and gray. YUCK. This heat wave just makes us more eager to find a house with a pool... someday.
I've been keeping busy as a "house wife" (such a silly title) by baking, raspberry picking, decorating, making curtains, pillow covers, and creating some artwork. (I'll post those things in the upcoming days) It's a tough job but i'm always up for a challenge.
And finally, my little cute house as of tomorrow morning 7/28 will no longer be my house when I hand my keys over to the new owners. I have nothing but happy, fun and wonderful memories there and I wish the new owners find the same happiness there as I did.
OH! My cousin Kelly and I are going to a Cat Performance Show!! The Acro-Cats also known as the Rock Cats are coming to town and we are going to be front and center for little kitties frolicking about, playing instruments and doing tricks. I swear I am not making this up!! It's going to be purrrfectly amazing!

DIY Chevron Chair Makeover
A few years ago I bought a chair at the Goodwill for $5. The chair was in great shape, but the seat cushion just needed an update. I spray painted it white and covered it in a zebra print fabric. It looked 100x better. But recently, I thought I would bring it up to date even more by using a chevron pattern fabric for the seat cushion.
The seat was very easy to remove and then I stapled the fabric over the cushion. I think a lot of people walk right past good quality chairs just because it looks ugly. But with a coat of paint or spray paint and some new fabric you can transform them into a fabulous new chair!

2 Months
Little boy isn't so little anymore. When I would have ultrasounds of Everett when I was pregnant they said his belly was measuring off the charts, they weren't messing around!!! He is a big eater and likes eating so much he has to eat every 2 hours, even at night. Sleep baby sleep! He loves to smile and I think I pretty much got him to stick his tongue out on demand. I need to post a video of this!! He still loves to cuddle and he loves when I tell him random stories. Like the one where Baby Everett went on a magical journey to find the most delicious chocolate in the world for his mommy. It's a great story!

Hard Days Night...
Yesterday my husband brought me these roses and some chocolates.
It was a long day and night with this little guy...This (lack of sleep, really poopy diapers, feeding every 2 hours) is way better than being pregnant though!!! My wonderful cousin Kelly had a baby shower for me and invited was 3 other preggo mommies. 3 of us have had our babies now! Megan had Henley Cate, Heather had Elsie Jane. Now we are just waiting for cousin Kristi to have baby boy in September. And let's not forget cousin Kelly who is expecting sweet little girl "P" from Thailand sometime this fall. Yay babies!!

Pillsbury to the Rescue!
Now that the baby is almost 6 weeks old and my hubby is back to work (he's teaching summer school), it's time to start cooking. We had many delivered meals by friends & family that were so sublime. But sooner or later you have to get off the couch and feed your family. Now in a perfect world i would only be making organic, free range, grass fed & natural foods. And for the most part we buy organic fruits and veggies and we try to not buy processed foods. But there are days when I have only a few minutes to quickly throw together a meal. This is where Pillsbury.com comes in. They have this great website with lots of quick and easy recipes and they will even put together a shopping list for you. So far I have made a handful of meals that were quick, easy and pretty tasty. Well this is what I have been doing. Making easy meals and living the dream.
And let me tell you, those lemon bars were the best lemon bars we had ever eaten!!!! YUM!
Happy Friday!
