Friday Fun Facts
It's Friday and I'm going to share a bit about myself...
- I was voted Most Likely To Make a Fashion Statement in High School. Which is really funny, because after having a baby I feel sooo frumpy all the time.
- I majored in Literature and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). I have a minor in Theology. I still contemplate going to seminary to study theology.
- I took three years off of school between my sophomore and junior year. I just had no idea of what I wanted to do in school and didn't want to waste time or money.
- I lived in New Hampshire for a year, working at a Christian counseling and residential care facility. But it was more like a big farm, where we helped young adults get back on their feet, through work, mentoring, and the love of Jesus. It was not a cult or commune. :) But it was one of the toughest, most challenging and life changing years of my life.
- In New Hampshire I worked in the kitchen and canning room (we harvested a ton of crops). Not only did I learn a lot about cooking & baking in large quantities but I can Can & Preserve food with the best of them!
- If I could open up a shop it would be a bakery. I love baking! And I think it would be so fun to have a cute little bakery. One that also made homemade soups and sandwiches, with comfy chairs, great music and crafts made by locals for sale.
- I have a huge sweet tooth.
- I went to jewelry making college for a year. I always wanted to do it, and I learned so much. Soldering, ring sizing, design, gemology, and stone setting. Sadly, it just wasn't for me, but I'm glad I tried it.
- I taught English in China for a summer at a middle school.
- I helped build houses and teach bible classes to children in Trinidad. Friendliest people on earth! I dream about going back.
- I back-packed through Europe after I graduated from college. Spain, Italy, France, and Amazing!
- Thai food is my favorite food. And it has to be scorching hot spicy!
- When I met my husband we were both working at a middle school. I worked in the Library Media Center and he was an 8th grade math teacher. I had a secret crush on him for awhile before we started dating. My friends all called him code name "T.C." ... Teacher Crush!
- We had a very fast courtship when we did start dating. Our first date was November 2009, we got engaged May 2010, then married August 2010 and exactly 9 months to the day of our wedding we had our sweet baby boy!
- I love being a stay at home mom. It's better than anything I could have imagined.
- Despite all that I've done before I got married and had a baby, I am definitely a homebody and would rather chill at home with my boys than travel anywhere in the world.
- is my favorite number.
Happy Friday! Hope you have a great weekend!
