Swimming Pools and Movie Stars

My dream home is not your typical dream home. I'm not one for big McMansions. I like little charming cottages with lots of character. I don't need a lot, just a comfy little space to make all my own. But there is one thing I've always wanted in with a house... A SWIMMING POOL!

The typical response I get to my pool desire are these:
You think you would want one but you would never use it
They are hard to maintain
They are expensive

I get all those things... But something in my heart just leaps for joy whenever I see a swimming pool. It never fails. They take my breath away. I realize the cons of a pool, but my pros are so extensive. I love the water, even just to look at it. I love being in water, even just to float. This is meditation and relaxation for me. Someday I would like a pool. Someday.

And Now i have one more thing I would like in my dream home:

Built-In Beds!


They just so look so cozy and inviting! I could imagine myself curled up, reading a book and then falling fast asleep with a summer breeze coming from my window.

I agree about the pool. And I too love old brick homes, with lots of charm. And renovations, of course.

Right now, I would just be happy for two bathrooms!!

You! For a visit, anyway. We have VERY similar tastes! (I have always loved the built in bed idea, too, and I prefer a cozy house to a big one) I grew up with a swimming pool and it was wonderful. I am not sure if my parents thought it was so great but I don't think they regret it. They always knew where their kids were during those long summer days AND we weren't bored and bugging them all day long. We were getting our exercise.

Our neighbors have a pool and use it ALL THE TIME! My sister has a pool too--and if they could, they would be swimming in it now! If you enjoy the water and being outside--it is kind of relaxing to do some of the cleaning--and if you can't stand it, they have companies that will come out and do it for you! I bet all those people who say you would never use it would be the first ones to come a knockin' on your door--just stoppin' by--and lookin' to swim! :0)

I would love to have just another bathroom in our house! One isn't enough and will be not so fun once the kids get older. Oh well--you make due with what you got.

I love the built in beds! Anything to create more space!!!!!

So now with Christmas almost upon us, I wanted to take the last few days to make some Christmas Crafts. This weekend I spied this AWESOME clothespin wreath on Pinterest which lead me to  Hambly Screen Prints Blog . Not only is it a fantastic blog with fun projects, it's also an online store full of the coolest scrapbook\crafting supplies. If you haven't been to Hambly Screen Prints...  GO NOW ! The clothespin wreath was so fun and easy to make!  Supplies you need: Wooden clothespins scrapbook papers Washi tape (or decorative tape) You can buy washi tape at Hambly, Amazon.com, etsy, Michaels or most craft stores) Glue Thick cardboard for circle (or Michaels sells pre-made circle forms) Felt to cover cardboard (although I skipped that step) Decorate your clothespin however you like. A Book and A Giveaway

As I said I would be doing in my 7 Resolutions, I am reading a book a week. This past week I read the book Precious, based on the Novel Push by Sapphire. I'm sure most of you have heard about the movie based on the novel. The book club that I belong to is reading this book and now that I read it, I am going to give it away. The book was very eye opening, raw. You really don't want to believe that children have to live like this, that this is reality for many children\teens. Incest, rape, abuse, lack of education, lack of everything! I know this stuff happens, but you don't want to believe it. I work at a Middle School, and I look around and wonder what happens to some of these kids when they go home. My heart breaks. It's not an easy read by any means, but it will make you think and feel.
