Hope you get a tick out of this one...

Sometimes when you stand in line at Target you have many last minute items to pick from: Gum, smut mags, Toblerone chocolates, hairbands, batteries, and even wood ticks. Yes, wood ticks.
Standing in line at Target today a lady said, "Excuse me, could you look at something? I think i have a tick on my neck."
So she proceeds to life up her hair, and low and behold is a wood tick planted firmly in her neck.
Poor lady looked like she was going to die. So I said, No worries and I asked the checkout gal for a paper towel and then I removed the tick from the lady's neck.
She was grateful and began blubbering about how she hates ticks and she is even afraid to remove them from her dog... I was more impressed that she deemed me worthy of tick inspection\removal.

I live for moments like these, they sure do make life interesting.

When you're from the country, you're not that scared of such things. Or you know how to overcome the creepies to become super woman if needed. Way to go you lip gloss wearin' Tickwoman - go now and fight the evil insects with a bat of those eyelashes and a flip of your hair!
I must say you are very approachable and give off that "I'll help you with anything" vibe. And that's a compliment.

Simply repulsive. . . but, in times of trouble--we all can amaze ourselves. I picked little lice buggers out of a girl's eyelashes a way long time ago when I worked at a crises/treatment center. I would sit there and wait for them to crawl out from under her eyelids and snatch them with my fingernails (yeah, I actually had fingernails back then). I felt so bad for her! I do not know where the strength to do it came from--but at least she didn't have to have her eyelashes plucked at the doctor's office! You rock!!

So now with Christmas almost upon us, I wanted to take the last few days to make some Christmas Crafts. This weekend I spied this AWESOME clothespin wreath on Pinterest which lead me to  Hambly Screen Prints Blog . A Book and A Giveaway

As I said I would be doing in my 7 Resolutions, I am reading a book a week. This past week I read the book Precious, based on the Novel Push by Sapphire. I'm sure most of you have heard about the movie based on the novel. The book club that I belong to is reading this book and now that I read it, I am going to give it away. The book was very eye opening, raw. You really don't want to believe that children have to live like this, that this is reality for many children\teens. Incest, rape, abuse, lack of education, lack of everything! I know this stuff happens, but you don't want to believe it. I work at a Middle School, and I look around and wonder what happens to some of these kids when they go home. My heart breaks. It's not an easy read by any means, but it will make you think and feel.
