A bit of help...

By now we have heard about the devastating floods in Australia. Thousands of people losing everything in the floods. Including many who have lost their lives. It's such a sad thing to see happening and you feel rather helpless.
There is an etsy artist (and I'm sure there are more) who is donating 100% of her sales to a family of four with a baby on the way who have lost everything in the flood. If you would like to check out her shop you can find some really cute garland!

Go visit This Neck of the Woods for all her cute stuff for sale.

I bought this super cute garland for the baby's room today:

TWD ~ Lemon Poppyseed Muffins

Oh my it's been awhile since I've made a Tuesday with Dorie recipe! Let's rewind a bit... in August I got married, went back to work after a month off, and then found out i was pregnant! And not long after the morning sickness set it, but it wasn't just morning it was all day long! UGH. Soon Christmas was here and then off to our honeymoon in Hawaii. When we got back we decided to move into my husbands house and put my house on the market. Which meant a bathroom remodel and moving into a new house. Soooo.... now that we are all on the same page, you can see it's been a bit busy and not a lot of time to bake, or even the desire to bake when i was really sick to my stomach. I am feeling so much better now and ready to get back into the swing of things.
I haven't actually made the Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins yet, but I do have the lemons and I'm ready to go. Just need to find my muffin pans! :)
Stay tuned...

It's been ages since my last post. We've been to Hawaii and back, moved into a new house and had a bathroom remodeled. So needless to say it's been a bit crazy. The baby has been kicking up a storm, big kicks every so often. We bypassed the butterfly flutters and went right to karate kicks.

I would blog more about Hawaii, but I have no pictures to post... yet! i need to find all the cords and download those babies. But yes, we had the most wonderfully relaxing time. The Big Island was beautiful, sunny and warm. It is hard to come back to freezing cold and snow ALL THE TIME!

I am getting adjusted to living in a new house. We only brought our clothes, tv and had a new bed delivered. We were in desperate need of a new bed... and i love it! Slowly i am going to make this house into a home and I'm super excited to get started on the baby's room!
This weekend will be a lovely 3 day weekend! We plan on making cinnamon rolls and lazing about, Saturday night we have dinner plans with 3 awesome people at my favorite Kurdish restaurant, Babani's. Monday is my birthday! 34! Soon I'll be buying diapers for the baby and myself! har har har.

Aloha!

In a few hours we will be on our honeymoon in Hawaii! The hotel in the photo is the one where we will be staying at while we are there. They have a snorkeling lagoon that is calling to me. And I love that my only carry-on is my snorkeling gear bag!

Happy New Year!

Yay Bloggers!

Last night my awesome party thrower cousin Kelly had her 4th Annual Gift Wrapping Party. It was a cozy group of really wonderful people. With lots of yummy treats and a plethora of wrapping materials. I brought a bunch of gifts to wrap but only wrapped two. Fact: I am the worlds worst gift wrapper. That is number 2 on my list of things i really stink at. #1 is math. Good thing I married a math teacher, and he is a really good gift wrapper to boot. SCORE.
Some of the people that were there I don't see very often, but I read all their blogs.
Conversation flows so freely because even though you haven't seen the person, you read about their lives. So you can ask them how their adoption is going, or their pregnancy or their job change.
They know things that are going on in your life too... it just makes it easy & fun.
In an age where technology, cell phones, email keep things impersonal, blogging really does bring people closer. Well I think so anyway.
Well blogger friends, keep blogging because I'll keep reading!

Wish List

My hubby and I were talking about what we were going to get each other for Christmas. We both are pretty ambivalent, considering we just got a ton of really great wedding gifts. And last week we went to Fleet Farm and I bought him a coat and he bought me a food dehydrator. (we're so practical). But the more we talked we wanted to buy a each other a little special totally impractical something.
It's no secret that my all time favorite store is Anthropologie. So many interesting and unique little things there! If i were rich I would probably only shop there. Although sometimes I can't stomach their clothing prices... I'm a target\old navy type of clothes shopper.

For fun though, I decided to make an Anthropologie wish list. Just a few cutesy things that I wouldn't mind having. These were my top choices:

Cloth Bound Penguin Classics

I love so many of these stories, and these covers are so lovely. I have 2 at home, but i really want A Christmas Carol, Little Women & Sense & Sensibility.

Fleur-De-Lys Juice Glass

I bought two of these glasses for the head table at our wedding. Only one glass made it back in one piece. :(

Grapefruit Sugar Bowl

Adorable little bowl for when you want to sprinkle a little sugar on something that needs sweetening up.

Extra Ingredients Measuring Spoons
Most measuring spoons are so basic, these add a little whimsy to the kitchen.

Charlie Harper Flash Cards

These would be cute to frame for the baby's room. And then later on down the road use them for learning the alphabet.

Remembering Audrey Earrings

These pretty little earrings can be worn with anything. And the price is right!

Books I Read in 2019

Here it is, my once a year blog post. This year I read 38 books. I always aim for 52 books, but life happens. I read more non fiction last ...
