Weellll.... no baby yet. 39 weeks and holding. 2 weeks ago I quit my job for good and although most people commented, Why so soon before you due date? I just had a feeling these weeks would need to kept open for anything. Last week I was at 5 different doctor appointments, some for me, some for the baby, some for both. This week I was just supposed to have 2 appointments but that has turned into 4 with a trip to the HOSPITAL. Yep, fun times! My blood pressure was up on Monday so they thought i should go get checked out at the hospital. I thought, well this could be it... and the funny thing is, i was more worried that i hadn't showered and shaved in a few days then having a baby! My husband said, WHO CARES... but I do! If i'm going to get all gross delivering a baby then I want to start out fresh with smooth legs and shiny clean hair! So i pretty much shower everyday just in case! HA! Back to the hospital... they hooked me up to all the monitors and drew lots of blood and I just laid there and we watched A Baby Story of all things. I wanted inspiration! After about 2 hours my blood pressure was back to normal and my blood work came back negative for preeclampsia, they decided to send me home. They put me on modified bed rest, which really just means, take it easy lady. So i have been taking advantage of that. This Friday will be the litmus test for the baby's birth. I have an ultrasound to determine the baby's size. If he is super huge (which on Monday he was measuring 8lbs 14oz) then I'm sure they'll want to induce. If he gets to 10lbs then they'll want to do an C-section. I just want my body to do what it is supposed to, but since nothing is happening i'll probably opt for the induction. But i pray pray pray that i will just go into labor on my own and let me body and baby do their thing.
Enough baby talk.
Did anyone watch America's Next Great Restaurant? Where contestants try to promote their restaurant concept in order to win a chance to open their own restaurant in 3 American cities. We watched a few episodes and are excited because they opened up a Soul Daddy (the winner) at the Mall of America. We are going to check it out on Friday after my doctor appointment, which the offices just happen to be right across the street from the MOA. I'll keep you posted on our impressions of Soul Daddy.
I just took pics of the baby's room. Once I tweak them a bit, I'll post them in the next few days. I have to photoshop out some things as to not give away the baby's name.
sorry kelly.

Isn't That Special!
I feel special today! Not only am I 38 weeks preggo today, but one of my favorite blogs featured my bird fabric lamp on her blog today!
With Two Cats is a really great blog about being a mommy and decorating and all sorts of fun stuff. I pretty much just lurk on her blog, but I am a follower! So today she posted things that caught her eye on her follower's blogs.
I honestly saw my lamp on her blog and thought, Someone else has my lamp!
I'm a little slow these days!!! But hopefully this baby won't be slow coming... yesterday my doc said I was 1/2 cen dilated and 50% effaced... so it's a start.
Please pray and send happy thoughts to my friend Heather of the EO who is in the hospital with some pregnancy complications. Let's hope her little acorn girl can hang out much longer and grow nice and big before she makes an appearance.

Electric Youth!!!

perezhilton.comI am FREAKING out!! My two pre-teen idols are going on tour!!!! Tiffany and Debbie Gibson have decided to join forces (about time!). I heard it on the news this morning and I launched into singing all the songs i could remember. It brought happy memories back from 5th and 6th grade, singing along to my tapes and me and my friends trying to copy what they were wearing.
Such good times! I love the 80's!

Jug O' Pee
This may be TMI but i just had to post. As my pregnancy comes near a close, I find all these weird things happening. Like my doctor thought i might be showing signs of Preeclampsia, so for 24 hours i had to collect my urine and put in a big jug AND keep it refrigerated. I was tempted to write over the label and put Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice (i didn't!) But everything is now fine, no preeclampsia here. So that worry is over. They did an ultrasound on Wednesday and i have a BIG ol' baby growing in me!!! 7lbs and i'm only 36 weeks. If i go to my due date (which my doctor is predicting i will) I could have a 9 pounder! whoo whee! He has a full head of hair and is really long. Just like his mom! Well I was at one time. When i was born i was 21 inches long which is big for a baby. I only grew to be 5'2" though. And all my super model hopes were dashed. And on top of all that my baby's kidney is a tad big, and so they want to do a follow-up with a Pediatric Urologist at the Children's Hospital. The big concern is that the little guy could get a bladder infection after he is born. So more testing... So i have been to some form of doctor everyday since Tuesday. And for someone who NEVER has to go to the doctor this is getting a little old. Better to be safe than sorry I guess. And if my big ol' baby is doing okay, then so am I! BTW, if you do come over to my house ever and I offer you orange juice, I promise it will only be OJ! :) Have a great weekend! I will be sleeping through most of it. I just can't keep my eyes open these days. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Here I am...
OOOOFTAH!!! yes, we do say that in Minnesota. If you've seen the movie Fargo we do talk like that. No one wants to admit it, but Ooh yaah, you betcha we shurre doo! Anyway, I am so tired. 2 days shy of being 36 weeks being pregnant and I feel like I could go anytime. I am huge and uncomfortable. Water buffalo. I can't even wear my wedding rings because by the end of the day my fingers look like sausages! OOOFTAH!!! I'm so ready to meet this little guy. I have a feeling though that i'll probably go right up to my due date (1 month from today!!) So i'll just wait uncomfortably until he makes his appearance. There is a silver lining... my last day of work is April 21st!! And not just maternity leave, but full on, done with work, going to be a stay at home mom! I have been at my job just shy of 4 years. There have been many good days, lots of not so great days, and lately too many really bad days. Maybe because I'm just crabbier when i'm preggo? But i kid you not, Middle School kids are so LOUD! I swear their words come out in screams and they like to talk back! I guess it's good practice for the future, but it's really starting to drive me insane. I don't remember screaming and yelling in Middle School? But maybe because my school was 7-12 grade so if you walked the halls screaming a big 12th grader would slam you into the locker?! Anyway, i am so excited for next Thursday. I'll miss seeing some of my pals daily, and having my husband right down the hall for when I have a melt down and go running to his room balling... (of course i always make sure he is not teaching when i do this, could you imagine?) But I'll get to be home with my little guy and we can just have melt downs together. And 1 baby screaming will probably be nicer than 1500! In the next couple of days I'll post pics of the baby's room. I just need to put up some curtains and we are ready to roll. Spring is here and i'm in sandals full time now! YIPPY!

Cover a Lamp Shade with Fabric
I've been working on projects for the baby's room. I am currently making a banner with the secret boy's name on it, a blanket and an ottoman cover.

This was so simple to make, and all i used was a glue gun! I found the tutorial on Young House Love blog and I'm looking forward to covering more lamps!
Hey! It's Spring! Yippy!
I mentioned in a previous post that i was interested in this Michael Miller bird fabric I saw on Fabric.com.
Well I purchased 2 yards and put it to good use by covering a lamp shade. I'll probably use the rest on the blanket I'm making.
