I have other friends too....

I know of as of late, you all think the only friends I have are my co-workers. Quite the contrary, I do have other friends and I'm going to prove my point right here and now:

1. Friday, my MN BFF Shannon and I spent a rad evening together. We ate at our favorite Chinese (pretty authentic!) restaurant the Tea House. With the waiter who knows us and what our usual is. We didn't even really need to order... "like usual right?"
Yummy Chinese food was followed by a funny\silly movie called The Hangover. Staring Bradley Cooper and the voice of our cousin Chad (Justin Bartha). I realized that ]both Bradley and Justin also played best buds in the really dumb movie Failure to Launch. Zooey Deschanel was the movie, but what movie isn't she?

2. I spent Saturday with Ellen. We went to the Global Market and took part in a cake\dessert contest from the various eateries in the GM. My favorite was the Strawberry Cake from the Salty Tart (a most stellar bakery!)
We had delicioso chicken tortas from Manny's Tortas... mmmmmm!
I bought some bamboo spoons from the Hmong market and a Bubble Tea from Pham's Deli.
We also bumped into the Mayor of Minneapolis, R.T. Rybak.
He was just picking up a large order from the Holy Land Deli
And I got a little crush on him, why?

a. Because he was just chillin' at the Global Market.
b. He supports local business.
c. He was picking his order up himself, just him, not his wife or an assistant.
d. He is a looker in person. Raar!
I love Minneapolis!

3. Sunday I was invited to a musical courtesy of my cousin Kelly. Nikki and Heather also joined us and we had some good laughs watching the musical Zanna Don't at the Illusion Theatre.
It was colorful, funny, bold and a great "fairy" tale.

The only co-worker contact I had over the weekend was a text from Good and Bad Liz at 2:00 am... "We are dancing to your song! LYLAS!!!" (fyi, lylas translates to: love ya like a sister)

Sabro does have other friends besides creepy co-workers. See!

School is OUT

This week was the last week of school at the middle school I work at. Yesterday was the last day for teachers... it was an emotional day. More so than the past 2 years. I guess because there are staff and teachers leaving not only for the summer but for good. Many of those teachers I have grown to really like... so it's a sad time. Plus all the peeps that I enjoy seeing everyday, won't be here for 3 months.
Working at a school is strange, unlike most jobs. At most jobs you go to work, see the same co-workers everyday for 12 months strait. At a school you go on co-worker hiatus for 3 months, and it's an odd feeling.
Anyway sudden change can be good and bad.

Bad... miss my crazy co-worker friends.
Good... Get lots of work done.

Bad... no laughing my butt off throughout the day.
Good... I'm going to put 30Rock on in a few minutes.

Bad... No funny co-worker emails throughout the day.
Good... I have pandora.com blasting through the library right now!

Well kids...I have thousands upon thousands of books to process... (notice the shoes are already off and I'm ready to rock the barcodes!) Time waits for no man, and neither does the Librarian.

P.S. I'm not totally alone... I have a special friend to keep me company. The school mascot is chilling at my desk this summer. RAAAAAAAAR!

Shoe Wrecks

These feet belong to one person. This is not a joke. A certain co-worker of mine actually wears these strange shoe combos. It has been my goal (and pleasure) to document these fashion disasters throughout the year. Again, this is not a joke, this is a real person who wakes up everyday and gets dressed with a mirror and perfect vision.

Part 2

Another busy week under my belt!

Monday: Memorial Day, Already talked about it in a previous post.

Tuesday: Book Club Meeting with my co-workers. We read, um, um, hold on, Oh yeah... Promise Not to Tell. I have no idea who wrote it. It was an okay book, it had a potato girl and lots of creepy moments. Our next two books for the summer will be: Garden Spells for July
and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies for August. neat.
Picked Shannon up from the airport. I was surprised she even came back. Another BFF lost to the Michigan Black Hole.... This is the second time in my life a dear friend has met a boy from MI, stayed and never left. What gives?

Wednesday: Had my beloved co-worker girls over for grillin' chillin' and AMAZING make-0vers. We also played board games and found out that i was most compatible with Good Liz. There was also a sleepover (on a school night! gasp!) and breakfast in the morning at Bruegger's Bagels.

Thursday: I don't know what i did.

Friday: Final Farewell Happy Hour at Psycho Suzi's with GC, GP, MCF, SAD, EILWM Co-workers. Teachers are like caged animals, once out of the cage... hide your children, small pets and elderly.
I could barely peel myself away to go to a most important family bbq, and said co-workers made me VERY late!
Off to the Robidon'ts for a family night.
Finally got to meet new cousin Drew! AWWWW!!! love!
Kelly saved me a bratwurst and that was most appreciated. Love my family.

Saturday: I went to a movie (Night at the Museum 2) with my brother and Aunt Sandy. Followed by a walk around the park. It was special.

Sunday: Spent a half day at my parent's house. Making friends with the geese and playing croquet with the rents and brother.
Now I'm back at my house, taking in the sunshine and praying for rain.
I need to get my place tidied up for a little end of the school year bash at my pad on Wednesday night. Do i seem obsessed with my co-workers? I'm not.

The One Where Sabro Gets a Life...

I know I haven't blogged in almost a week, but I have had NOTHING to blog about. Well that is not entirely true... I've had a busy week.

Sunday: Baby Bridal shower for soon to be cousin-in-law Jen! Congrats on your "BIG" news! And thank you for being weird like us and wanting to join our family +1.
Kelly was my partner in crime in hosting, thanks cous! Your dump cake was a masterpiece in culinary history!

Monday: Birthday dinner for Sarah D at Kelly & Kyle's, with some grilled steaks, corn on the cob and a heap of Gossip Girl on the side. Serena take that stupid tassel out of your hair and PLEASE let Blair and Chuck last longer than a week next season.

Tuesday: Co-worker BFF\GC secret poop bathroom extraordinaire Kristin literally RAN to my house... 4 miles in what we had no idea was 97 degree weather! Super Star! "I...had...to... stop...at...Subway...to...get....some...water....and...then...poured....it...over...my...head!" We then grilled turkey brats on my patio, watched American Idol and were totally disappointed by Glee.

Wednesday: VERY HOT & WINDY walk with Shannon, followed by a walk to the Dairy Queen, followed by MAYJAH bloating and being pelted by rocks from a mini-tornado. OOOOF!!!!
Then off to Acapulco (the restaurant) to Celebrate one year cancer free for Ellen! Way to go Nellen my love! Jeanelle and Kelli were there to share their love and pervy married stories.

Thursday: I have no idea what I did.

Friday: Drove Shannon to the airport so she could go visit her BF Finch... Then off to Happy Hour with co-workers, a surprise visit from our principal (did I really call him a dufas?) and Bad Liz and I ended up at Walgreens to stock up on hairpieces and Wet 'n' Wild products.
(Happy Birthday Heather of the EO, we still need to go on our date!)

Saturday: Free coffee and hugs at Megan and Nori's play house... Sarah and C.F. Ellen also attended the coffee club. I finally gave Nori her birthday presents 4 months later. I hope they don't smell like car trunk, because that is where i had been storing them.
Saturday night I went to a party at the home of some friends i hadn't seen in 2 years! Just like old times! Pass the boot!

Sunday: Family picnic with my mom's cousins. Except, wait, what? Said Cousins forgot to tell my mom that they cancelled the picnic. oooops. Sabro to the rescue! Invited my mom\dad\brother\aunt\uncle over to my house to grill and chill and talk about social security checks.

Monday: My day to work around the house, remember troops, and hermit. Thank you very much. I again have something going on every night this upcoming week.
Now that all my favorite shows are on hiatus, I can finally leave my house at night.
